Dream the dream onward into your art/journal pages

In-person Make Your Own DreamZine workshops coming up in Santa Fe, NM, fourth Sundays:

I’ve added an additional workshop July 20th (as the July 27th group has filled! 😊 ) 1pm-4pm . Next up after that will be August 24th same time… Contact me for registration or more information.

What is a DreamZine, you might ask…. I see it as a kind of graphic novel for our psyche, not exactly a depiction of the dream images (though it can be that) but a bit like dreaming the dream onward into the pages of our visual journals. A way of seeding new images that can sprout into new forms. Summer rain has really prompted plant growth in my yard, those bright green shades of “weeds” popping up, some of which are beneficial to the birds, and others that create stickers in my dog’s paws… Psyche can be like that.... nourishing and, well, sometimes sticker-y.

So my journal pages evolve between text and image, a kind of free-form play, returning to dream images (sometimes just a flash) and back into the collage/paint/threading. I’ve been stitching string and thread into my accordion journal along with the water soluble wax pastels… I’ve been really enjoying this art medium…

Here’s to creativity as a form of resilience during these most difficult times.
