“Make Your Own DreamZine”

July 2024 Dream & Art Workshops

                  in Santa Fe, New Mexico                 

 

In this fun workshop we will learn to make a simple fold-out paper accordion art journal which will become a template for your own DreamZine—kind of like a mini graphic novel of your dream! Participants will learn Embodied Imagination® dream work techniques which have a basis in post-Jungian archetypal psychology. We will doodle, collage, notate snippets of dreams, or even memories if you don’t have a dream to bring.

All art materials provided—papers, colored pencils and fine crayons, glue and scissors—to let your hands play while we delve into the realm of the imaginal and nighttime dreams.

The dreamwork practices of Embodied Imagination® allow for a deeper connection with our unconscious knowledge.

$45 per class/ $80 for both days.  Discount for both classes paid in advance; it is not necessary to attend both.

Sessions held at Second Street Studios in Santa Fe New Mexico; directions given at time of registration.

 You will have two creative guides during the workshops. Karey Carpenter holds a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling and is an artist, curious creative and student of life. A painter and mixed media artist from New Jersey, she has lived in Santa Fe for five years. Karey will demonstrate book-making techniques and other collage practices. Your dream leader, Rebecca Peterson, is a certified Practitioner of Embodied Imagination® founded by Jungian analyst Robert Bosnak. She received her doctorate from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a focus on dreams and nature. She has a background in art therapy and had a studio practice in San Miguel de Allende, MX for many years. She currently resides in her hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico where the mountains called her back.

Where does time go during a pandemic? Perhaps into the underworld dream realm altogether.  I hope you have all been able to connect with your dreaming psyche during these strange days.

I feel fortunate that sometimes I remember my sleeping dreams; and I take comfort in knowing that even when I cannot recall dreams, my psyche is always, always dreaming. I am more and more convinced that all of Nature is dreaming; that the Soul of the World is in dream state, as we are. 

I can't believe a year has passed since I last wrote here!  My writing has secretly continued and a new web page is forthcoming, in early '23. How did that time flowfly by? I read that young people refer to say 1997 as "the late 1900's". I guess that's true! (Doing the math... what?! )

In the meantime, keep making meaning, keep making art if in secret, secret writing... and the time will come to reconnect... this virtual world has riches, until we meet again in person, hugging.... and look for my new web page with online workshops in

 Greetings everybody!  I'm here to talk about DREAMS. ...

...It's been a long pandemic year. As you may have noticed I have not posted here for a while... it was with regret that I put my art studio into storage in summer 2020 when it became clear that covid would be here for some time. Learning to live in an unpredictable future has been one of the challenges of the last 16 months.... and for the time being I am going to continue to work virtually. My first and foremost offering is Embodied Imagination(r) work with your Dreams via Zoom (or other online platforms that suit your needs).... 

I am a trained Embodied Imagination Practitioner; more info at the link below. 

In other great news I defended my dissertation at Pacifica Graduate Institute in January 2020 and am now Doctora Rebecca!  The focus of my research was dreams and nature. "Engaging the Soul of the World Through Dream" is the title, and more details will be forthcoming including an online link to the publication.
